Dress Code

We would like Members and Visitors to feel relaxed, comfortable and welcome. We request that all Members and Visitors dress with respect and consideration for others, in keeping with the traditions, character and standing of a Members’ Golf Club.

On The Course

On the course we ask that smart and recognised golf attire is worn. Tailored shorts are requested. Members and visitors wearing shorts may choose to wear either short sports socks or long knee length socks. Hats should be worn in the conventional way with any peak forward. Golf shoes should always be worn for safety, preferably without metal spikes.

Juniors

Some flexibility will be accepted for Juniors, particularly if non-members and/or whilst undergoing instruction. The Club does not wish to dampen youthful enthusiasm by being over-prescriptive.

On The Terrace And In The Clubhouse

Clean and dry golf attire, or smart casual wear is required. Golf shoes are allowed in the Clubhouse provided they are clean and dry, and soft soled. Visors, hats, wet golf shoes and waterproof clothing should always be removed prior to entering the Clubhouse.

In The Dining Room

Smart casual clothing may be worn in the dining room unless a specific occasion requires something more formal. Golf shoes are not permitted at any time.

For club matches, men are required to wear a jacket and club tie.

Changing

Members are requested to change clothes and shoes in the changing rooms provided and not in the car park.

Mobile phones

On Club premises mobile devices must be always switched to silent. Silent browsing is allowed in the Clubhouse, but you are asked to do nothing which affects the enjoyment of other members and visitors. The making or receiving of voice calls is only permitted in the car park, unless in an emergency. The use of laptops and headphones in the club rooms is strongly discouraged.

Adherence to the code

Club Staff are under a duty to remind Members and Visitors of the current dress and mobile phone regulations. If approached, Members and Visitors are expected to graciously acknowledge that duty.
